AK Launch is led by founder Avi Kaufman, who started the company in 2014. Across more than a decade we have shipped and continue to run software that businesses depend on daily. What we’ve learned from clientsWhen nobody uses it, the design is wrong. A distributor told us staff weren’t using their new CRM. Rather than add features, we reorganized it around what people were trying to get done instead of pages of data.
Ship one useful thing first. A therapy practice wanted a staffing map that also flagged therapists with open hours and clients short on hours. They weren’t tracking those hours yet, so we built the map first and saved the hours for version two.
Put the screen they use first. In an investment firm’s portfolio tool, the partners kept skipping the charts dashboard and going straight to the deals list. We made the deals list the home screen and moved the charts to their own page.

How we think about AIWe have shipped AI in production for healthcare practices — ambient scribes that draft clinical notes, coding suggestions teams confirm, note review with PHI automatically redacted. In every one of those systems the professional stays in control: AI drafts and suggests; humans review, approve, and decide.

How we think about securitySecurity is designed in from day one — encrypted data, role-based access, audit logging, and infrastructure-as-code — not bolted on before launch. For healthcare work, PHI protection and HIPAA §164.312(b) audit standards are the baseline, not an add-on.
