Overview
Access Kosher is the platform behind kosher-certification agencies worldwide. AK Launch built and maintains a single, multi-tenant system that runs the entire certification operation — the certifying agency’s back office, the companies it certifies, and the field inspectors inside the plants — deployed and individually branded for each agency. It has been in production for over six years.
Challenge
Kosher certification is deceptively complex. An agency must track every certified company, facility, product, formula, and ingredient; issue and expire Letters of Certification; schedule and record plant inspections; enforce policies — including separate Passover rules; and bill it all, often across thousands of companies. Most agencies ran this on spreadsheets, paper, and disconnected tools that couldn’t keep up.
Solution
AK Launch built one platform that runs the whole certification lifecycle:
- Company & product portal — certified businesses manage their own facilities, products, formulas, and ingredients online, through structured approval and removal request workflows.
- Certificate engine — generates Letters of Certification as PDFs with QR-code verification, and tracks issue, expiry, and renewal automatically.
- Field inspection app — the Mashgiach (supervisor) portal lets inspectors record plant visits and audits from the field, with built-in route planning.
- Guided renewal pipeline — a defined lifecycle (Schedule A & B, formula submission, inspection issues, payment, signed contract) moves every company from application to completed certification.
- Billing & renewals — invoicing, fee tracking, and automated renewal management.
